Who we are

Shelt Limited (“Shelt”, “we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14902839, with its registered office at 2 Exeter Street, Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, HU16 4LU. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. For anything about your data, email adam@sheltonline.com.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or any form of tracking, and it has no forms. Like any website, the service that delivers it (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and basic technical details of each request so that the pages can be delivered and protected from attack. We do not use that information to identify you.

When you contact us

If you email us, we use your name, email address and anything you tell us to reply and, if you decide to go ahead, to prepare a proposal. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.

Clients

If you become a client, we hold the contact, project and billing details needed to do the work, invoice you and keep proper accounts. Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you and complying with our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.

Card payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your card details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf to run the business: Cloudflare (website hosting and email routing), Google (email), Resend (sending email) and Stripe (card payments). We also share information with professional advisers, such as accountants, where needed, and with authorities when the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to any work are deleted within two years. Client and billing records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another organisation. Email adam@sheltonline.com and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
