Terms of business

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms apply to the websites, software, hosting and support that Shelt Limited (“Shelt”, “we”, “us”) provides to you. Every project also has its own written proposal. Where the proposal says something different from these terms, the proposal applies.

Proposals and prices

Before any work starts, we agree a written proposal with you that sets out what we will deliver, the timescale, the price and when each payment is due. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are fixed for the work described. If VAT applies, the proposal says so. Anything you ask for that falls outside the proposal is quoted separately, and only goes ahead once you agree.

Paying us

We invoice in line with the payment schedule in your proposal. You can pay by bank transfer, or by debit or credit card through Stripe’s secure payment pages. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe, so we never see or store your full card details.

Monthly plans

Hosting and support plans are billed monthly in advance, in GBP. You can cancel at any time by emailing adam@sheltonline.com. Your plan carries on until the end of the month you have already paid for, and there is no cancellation fee.

Cancelling a project

You can cancel a project at any time by email. You pay for the work completed up to the date you cancel, and we refund anything you have paid for work not yet done.

Refunds and putting things right

If something we deliver does not do what the proposal describes, tell us and we will fix it at no extra cost. If it cannot be fixed, we will refund the part of the price that relates to it. Refunds are paid within 14 days, using the same method you paid with.

Your content

You are responsible for the text, images, logos and other material you give us, and for having the right to use them.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or anything goes wrong, email adam@sheltonline.com and we will put it right as quickly as we can. Our postal address is Shelt Limited, 2 Exeter Street, Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, HU16 4LU.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
